Yesterday I became a business owner. I think I need to say that again…

YESTERDAY I BECAME A BUSINESS OWNER!

I’ve heard that if your dreams don’t scare you then they’re not big enough. I think this dream must be more than big enough!

Why though? Why take on this crazy/scary/huge dream? Why not just keep being a therapist at an agency and love what I do? Honestly I’m not totally sure. Part of it is wanting to do things my way. A part is wanting to work in my community rather than commuting. But that’s not really it.

I want, I need to share my words. The ones I think, the ones I love, the ones I’m afraid of, the ones I’m proud of, the ones I’ve survived and the ones I hope to overcome. Words are powerful. Words have the power to change us. A quote from a favorite author says this:

“One must always be careful of books and what’s in inside them for words have the power to change us.”

CASSANDRA CLARE

Words have changed me and continue to do so. I have seen words change the lives of my family, my friends and the people I’ve worked with. As humans we have much power and capacity to change our thoughts, those words that live inside our heads. When we do that we can and will affect change in the world.

I pray that I can share the words I have collected, lived, endured and loved with others. Only in this way, I believe, can we truly affect change and make the world a better place…

one healing word at a time
