Odds are if you’re looking for therapy things are pretty stressful right now. I’m sorry if that’s the case. The good news is that therapy is incredibly effective in helping people (including kids) learn new skills and work through hard things.
Kids often express their emotions through their actions. This might look like acting out, getting bad grades or even withdrawing from friends and family. Using play therapy and child parent psychotherapy, we are able to support parents in helping their kids learn how to get in touch with their inner feelings, express themselves better and get better at communicating.
It's not uncommon for adults to express their emotions through actions as well. This might look like struggling in relationships with friends, family or partners. Maybe it looks like having a lot of conflict at work or difficulty in getting along. Are you having trouble with motivation or getting out of bed? Does anxiety make it difficult to focus on the present and get things done? These are all things that we can help you with, and much more.
Relationship is the single most important aspect of therapy. The relationship that is built between the therapist and you (as the client or family) is the most important predictor of success. No matter what type of therapy is being practiced a good relationship will move healing forward and poor one can slow it down.
