Employment Opportunities
internship
A strong internship experience is incredibly important because it sets the foundation for everything that comes next in your career. What we learn during this time shapes not only our skills, but also our confidence, values, and sense of who we are as professionals. We believe in creating an environment of psychological safety that encourages open and honest self-reflection along with meaningful growth. Using a strengths-based approach, we help interns discover their own unique style and niche while building on what they already do well. We are passionate about providing a supportive experience that helps you grow, learn, and use your talents to offer effective, compassionate, and trauma-informed therapy to the clients you serve.
non-independently licensed clinician
Beginning your clinical career is an exciting and meaningful step, and having the right support along the way makes all the difference. We believe the early years of practice are a time of tremendous growth — not just in clinical skills, but in confidence, professional identity, and discovering the kind of clinician you want to become. That’s why we are deeply committed to providing a nurturing, psychologically safe environment where questions are welcomed, reflection is encouraged, and learning is truly supported.
Through thoughtful, high-quality supervision and a strengths-based approach, we walk alongside you as you develop your own therapeutic voice and clinical niche. We are passionate about investing in you — offering mentorship, guidance, and structured support to help you move confidently toward independent licensure. Our goal is to help you feel supported, capable, and inspired as you grow into a skilled, compassionate, and trauma-informed clinician who can make a meaningful difference in the lives of the clients you serve.
independently licensed clinician
At Healing Word we care deeply about the people we serve—and the clinicians who serve them. We are always happy to welcome clinicians with the expertise and experience that comes with being independently licensed. If you are also passionate about thoughtful, trauma-informed care and you want to be part of a supportive, collaborative team, then this opportunity is for you.
Here, you won’t feel isolated in your work. We value open communication, easy access to consultation and leadership, and a culture where your voice matters. You’ll have the flexibility to practice within your scope, use evidence-based approaches, and build meaningful relationships with clients on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. We’re deeply committed to ethical, client-centered care and to supporting your well-being and professional growth along the way.
If you’re looking for a warm, encouraging environment where you can do meaningful work and feel genuinely supported, we’d love to hear from you.
mentorship model of private practice
Starting my own private practice was a dream come true—but it was also one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I spent a year working three jobs while trying to get my practice off the ground, navigating credentialing delays, and building everything from scratch without getting paid during that time.
The hardest part wasn’t the long hours—it was feeling like I had to figure it all out alone. That’s why this mentorship program matters so much to me. You don’t have to struggle in isolation or guess your way through the process. With the right guidance and support, building your private practice can be challenging and empowering. If you are an independently licensed clinician looking to build your own practice please reach out to melinda@healingwordllc.com.
