When it comes to coping skills one of my absolute favorites is music. When I’m calm and feeling peaceful and quiet I like to listen to Simon and Garfunkel. When I’ve had a long day at work I’ve been known to blast some Taylor Swift and sing at the top of my lungs while I drive home! Icon for Hire is another great band for those long days! I have different playlists for cleaning, for dancing, for sadness and then there’s this one…
I made this playlist “out of the darkness” to reflect some of the darkest times in my life. Unfortunately I still have those days where everything just feels like too much and I’m not sure if I’ll make it through. On those days I’ll play this and remember that even though it’s dark right now it can and does get better. This list is definitely more on the rock/alt rock side of things. If that’s your type of music I bet you’ll love it! If it’s not then hopefully you’ll find something here you like.
Music can heal the wounds that medicine cannot touch.
